John Ryan

John Ryan, PhD, has extensive work experience in various leadership and academic roles. John is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Advarra since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Scientist at Advarra from October 2021 to March 2023. John previously worked as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Advarra from February 2021 to October 2021. Before joining Advarra, John worked as the CTO at Longboat Clinical from April 2015 to November 2020. John also served as a Lecturer at University College Dublin from October 2012 to April 2015, and as the Course Director/Senior Lecturer at University of Sydney from September 2009 to August 2011. Additionally, they had a Visiting Faculty (Sabbatical) position at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School from January 2011 to March 2011. John's academic career includes roles as a Lecturer at University College Dublin from September 2005 to September 2009, a Visiting Lecturer at Høgskolen i Bergen in February 2008, a Research Assistant at Trinity College Dublin from October 2002 to October 2005, and a Radiographer at Dublin Dental University Hospital from December 2002 to July 2005. Prior to their academic career, they worked as a Radiographer at Advanced Radiology from January 2006 to January 2008.

John Ryan, PhD has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science / Medical Visualization from Trinity College Dublin, which they obtained from 2002 to 2005. John also holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Bristol, earned in 2002. In addition, John has a Bachelor of Science Honors (BSc(Hons)) degree in Diagnostic Radiography from Robert Gordon University, which they completed from 1997 to 2001.
