Zuleika Benitez began their work experience as a Public Relations Specialist at MediSys Health Network in 2008, where they were responsible for strategic planning and implementation of social media campaigns. Zuleika also wrote and edited content for newsletters, websites, and social media platforms.
In 2015, they transitioned to National Health Care Associates as a Purchasing Coordinator, managing communication with facilities, tracking orders, and preparing purchase orders for 40 nursing homes and rehabilitation centers.
In 2019, Zuleika joined St. John's Episcopal Hospital as a Marketing Communications Specialist, where they created press releases, brochures, and flyers, and tracked public reach for the website and social media sites. Zuleika was later promoted to the role of Senior Marketing Communications Specialist, assisting in the development of website programs and digital strategies.
Currently, Zuleika is the Director of Public Relations and Marketing, Post Acute/Rehabilitation at Adventist HealthCare, starting in 2023. In this role, they are responsible for strategic planning on new marketing initiatives and building relationships to support the organization's mission and vision.
Throughout their career, Zuleika has received recognition for their accomplishments, including being named an Outstanding Woman in Healthcare during Women's History Month in 2022.
Zuleika Benitez holds a Diploma in Advertising/Public Relations from the High School of Art & Design, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Following this, they pursued their Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at LaGuardia Community College between 1997 and 1999. Zuleika then earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Public Relations from Long Island University from 1999 to 2001. Currently, they are working towards a Masters in Strategic Communications with a focus on Marketing at the State University of New York at Oswego, starting in 2021 and expecting to complete it in 2023.
