Steffen Heij

Steffen Heij is a seasoned risk management professional with extensive experience in the financial services sector. Currently serving as Senior Risk Manager at Aegon since January 2015, Steffen has a deep understanding of the insurance industry and Aegon's strategic objectives, stemming from previous roles such as Manager Retirement Studies and Vice President for Group Business Development at Aegon from 2005 to 2014. Steffen's career includes a position as Senior Economist at ING, where analysis on trends and competition was conducted, and significant policy advisory roles with the Dutch Ministry of Finance, focusing on banking supervision, the Economic and Monetary Union, and international negotiations. Steffen holds a Master's degree in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
