Matthew Dummer

Matthew Dummer is an experienced technology professional currently serving as the Director of Technology at Aeluma since May 2023. Prior to this role, Matthew worked as a Senior Staff Scientist at OSRAM from July 2018 to April 2023, specializing as a key expert in VCSEL epitaxy and chip design, particularly in sensor product development for consumer electronics and automotive applications. Between October 2008 and April 2023, Matthew was a Research Scientist at Vixar Inc., focusing on the research and development of VCSELs and other optoelectronic components. Matthew's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, where studies were conducted from 2002 to 2008, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Minnesota, obtained from 1999 to 2002.
