Stelios Tzannis

Stelios Tzannis has an extensive work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Stelios is currently the Founder and COO of Aeovian Pharmaceuticals, a San Francisco Bay Area-based biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing therapeutics for rare and aging-related diseases. Stelios previously served as the President and CEO of the same company from June 2019 to January 2020.

Before Aeovian Pharmaceuticals, Stelios worked as a Principal at Tzannis Bio/Pharma Consulting since November 2008. Stelios also held the role of President and CEO at Aeonian Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from June 2017 to June 2019.

Stelios has significant experience in founding and leading companies in the biopharmaceutical sector. Stelios founded Delos Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and served as their Founder, President, and CEO from October 2012 to June 2017. Stelios was also the Co-Founder and CEO of Mount Tam Biotechnologies from February 2014 to August 2015, as well as the Co-Founder, President, and COO of Theralpha SAS from February 2010 to November 2010.

Furthermore, Stelios has held senior positions in various pharmaceutical companies. Stelios worked as the EIR and Director of Clinical Sciences at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging from August 2011 to January 2017. Prior to that, they served as the VP Pharmaceutical R&D at AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from January 2006 to October 2008. Stelios was also the VP of R&D at iMEDD Inc. from January 2005 to January 2006, and the Director of R&D at Nektar Therapeutics from February 1998 to March 2005.

Stelios Tzannis pursued their education in the field of Chemical Engineering. Stelios began their academic journey in 1985 at the National Technical University of Athens, where they completed their Diploma degree in Chemical Engineering in 1990. Subsequently, they furthered their studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, starting in 1990. Over a period of four years, from 1990 to 1994, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, both in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.
