Joe Johnston has a diverse work experience that includes positions in aerospace engineering, the military, and emergency services. Joe began their career as an Emergency Medical Technician at Cataldo Ambulance Service in 2009. Joe then worked as a Teaching Assistant at North Carolina State University from 2009 to 2010. In 2011, they joined the United States Air Force as a Performance and Flying Qualities Engineer, where they served until 2016. Following their military service, Joe joined AeroTEC - Aerospace Testing Engineering & Certification Inc. In this company, they initially worked as an Aerospace Performance Engineer, focusing on the Mitsubishi Regional Jet certification program and developing simulation and analysis tools. Joe later held positions as a Mechanical System Engineer, Program Leader, and currently serves as a Mechanical Systems Engineering Group Lead.
Joe Johnston attended Middlebury College from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. Joe then pursued their education at North Carolina State University from 2009 to 2011, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.
