Katie Lau

Katie Lau has extensive experience in external communications, marketing operations, and brand management. Katie currently holds the position of Head of External Communications at The AES Corporation, a role they started in December 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Marketing Operations and Communications at Ascend Analytics from November 2022 to November 2023. From June 2021 to November 2022, Katie worked as the External Communications and Brand Manager at Newmont Corporation. Before that, they held various marketing roles at Rocky Mountain Institute, starting as a Program Marketing Senior Associate in August 2015 and later becoming the Marketing Manager for Africa, Islands, and Southeast Asia from May 2018 to June 2021. Katie also has experience at Phillips 66 and ConocoPhillips, where they worked in digital media coordination, talent development, and knowledge sharing network roles.

Katie Lau attended Katy High School from 1998 to 2002. Katie then went on to study Public Relations and Marketing at Oklahoma State University, earning their Bachelor of Science degree in 2006.
