Sam Bowen has a vast amount of experience in the hardware industry. Sam is currently serving as the Vice President of Hardware at aescape since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Density3 as a Product Development and Management Consultant, starting in February 2022.
From 2019 to 2022, Sam held the position of Senior Vice President of Hardware at Peloton Interactive. In this role, they led the development of hardware, including electrical and mechanical engineering, industrial design, and program management. Sam successfully scaled an innovative engineering team.
Between 2017 and 2019, Sam was the Vice President of Hardware at Tonal, where they played a significant role in creating advanced strength training equipment designed for home use.
Before that, from 2014 to 2017, Sam worked as the Vice President of Hardware at Fitbit. Sam contributed to the hardware development of Fitbit products during this time.
Sam gained extensive experience at Amazon Lab126, where they served as the Director of Hardware from 2007 to 2014. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Systems Engineering at webOS from 2006 to 2007.
Sam's hardware engineering journey began at Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo Company) in 2000, where they started as a Hardware Engineering Manager. During their time there, they contributed to the development and shipment of several products.
Their career kicked off in 1998 at Sensei Ltd as a Baseband Engineer, where they developed and launched a GSM mobile phone. Before that, they worked as a Graduate Engineer at GEC Marconi, Simulation and Training Division from 1997 to 1998.
Sam Bowen attended Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering.
