Carsten Czarnetzki

Carsten Czarnetzki is the Country Head for Spain and is based in Madrid. He is responsible for all Spanish business activities, including investments and asset management and in particular for sourcing opportunities and overseeing asset management activities for two non-core pan-European funds. Carsten joined AEW in 2012 and was based in the London office for four years before relocating to Spain in late 2016 to run the Madrid office. Prior to joining AEW, Carsten held a number of positions in fund management, investments and asset management across the USA and Europe. He began his career in the investment banking division of Deutsche Bank, focusing on real estate mergers and acquisitions. He also gained experience working in the private equity real estate area at JER Partners, as well as Starwood Capital Group in the UK, the USA and France. He then joined Generali Immobiliare in Paris as Director of investment funds and asset management, where he was entrusted with overseeing funds and assets in Europe and the US. Carsten holds a Master’s degree in Management from ESCP Europe, Paris, and completed a degree in Business Administration at the Ludwig Maximilian University.
