Maggie Smith has a long and varied work experience in marketing and communications. Maggie began their career in 2008 as a Production Assistant at Hubbard Broadcasting, where they operated studio and handheld cameras for news and Twin Cities Live, set up studio sets for station shows, and maintained studio and lighting. In 2011, they moved to ReelzChannel - National Cable Network - Albuquerque, NM, where they operated studio cameras, jib and teleprompter, worked directly with nationally known talent, producers and writers, reedited packages for out-of-home initiatives on Final Cut Pro, and maintained studio and lighting. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota as the Marketing & Communications Manager, managing the company website and social media accounts, utilizing Final Cut Pro and Adobe Suite to contribute photo and video content, managing a media database and assisting with earned media work, and managing Salesforce & Convio Luminate database and Google Ad & Analytics. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at the James J. Hill Center as the Marketing Manager, managing the day-to-day brand identity, overseeing all social media accounts, external and internal content, executing website updates, content changes and design using Wordpress and Concrete5 platforms, and assisting with the coordination of marketing campaigns. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota as the Marketing Communications Manager, collaborating with C-suite on marketing plans, managing the full-service marketing team to execute strategies for all departments of the 2,000-person organization, both in retail and nonprofit programs, providing innovation and insights to make data-driven decisions promoting the nonprofit mission, while driving sales and store traffic, and partnering with other leaders to monitor and enforce compliance and consistency with branding guidelines in all digital and print pieces across the organization. Maggie is currently working at Afar Media as the Marketing Activations Manager.
Maggie Smith attended the University of Minnesota from 2009 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Anthropology. Prior to that, they attended Loyola University Chicago from 2008 to 2009.
