Joshua Ard has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Joshua is currently working as a Software Engineer at Affect Therapeutics since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Full Stack Software Engineer at CommonLit Inc. from 2017 to October 2021, where they collaborated closely with the Product team and focused on front-end development. Before that, they worked as a User Interface Developer/Designer at Smartimage from 2013 to 2016, where they were responsible for designing wireframes and developing front-end features. Joshua also worked as a Front-End Web Developer at Widen Enterprises from 2013 to 2016, where they developed interfaces and solved user interface problems. Their work experience also includes a role as an Instructor at iD Tech Camps in 2012, where they taught video game and graphic design principles to students. Their earliest work experience was as an Assistant to Curator at Chazen Museum of Art from 2008 to 2010, where they handled, matted, and framed artworks, as well as developed archival storage materials.
Joshua Ard attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with a focus on Studio/Fine Arts. In 2012 to 2013, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Multimedia Digital Arts. Additionally, in August 2016, Joshua acquired a certification in User Experience - Interaction Design from the Nielsen Norman Group.
