Alaa Alyan

Alaa Alyan is an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in developing and optimizing data pipelines across various organizations. Currently employed at Affinity.co since August 2022, Alaa focuses on designing batch data pipelines for eCommerce product sales using technologies like Kedro, Python, and AWS. Previous experience includes roles at Jungle Scout, where Alaa supported revenue estimate products, and Benevity, where the development of a real-time data pipeline was implemented using Apache Flink and Kafka. Earlier positions at IBM involved building big data pipelines, while Alaa also contributed to ETL processes at Etisalat and worked on data modeling at Vodafone. Education credentials include a diploma in Data Science & Big Data Analytics from the Information Technology Institute and a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
