Amber Sparks

Amber Sparks currently serves as the Senior Digital Strategies Manager at AFL CIO, overseeing digital communications content and strategy for America's labor federation while managing a diverse team of specialists. As an accomplished writer with three award-winning short story collections, Amber has received notable recognition from prestigious publications, with an upcoming novel titled "Happy People Don't Live Here" set for release in January 2025. Previous experience includes roles at UFCW, where Amber advanced from Online Communications Specialist to Assistant Director of Communications, Digital Strategies, managing multiple teams and developing various communication strategies. Additional editing experience includes serving as a Fiction Editor for Emprise Review and an internship at Grassroots Solutions. Amber holds a Master's degree in Political Management and Communications from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in Theatre, English, and Journalism from the University of Minnesota.
