Eluma Obibuaku has had an extensive work experience in the finance and energy sectors. Starting in 2002, they worked as an Associate at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where they raised funding for gas generating capacity and optimized financing for coal and hydro assets. In 2005, Obibuaku joined the IFC as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in various countries. From 2008 to 2013, they served as a Senior Director at Geometric Power Limited, and then transitioned to become the Senior Vice President at Africa Finance Corporation in 2013. In this role, they led a finance team and played a key role in originating assets worth over $400 million in the power sector. Eluma has experience in wind, hydro, solar, and thermal fuels projects primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Eluma Obibuaku completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School between 1997 and 1999. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Delaware from 1989 to 1991.
