Bongi Portia Makhavhu

Bongi Portia Makhavhu has a diverse range of experience in risk management and compliance. Bongi Portia began their career at Liberty Life as a Computer Programmer in 1994 before moving on to various roles in operational risk and information security at Standard Bank South Africa and Standard Bank Group. Bongi Portia then worked as an Operational Risk Manager at Barclays before taking on the position of Senior Manager Operational Risk at Transnet Group Limited. Bongi Portia later held the role of Head of Operational Risk at Absa Group and Standard Bank South Africa. In 2015, they joined Indalo Solutions as an Enterprise Risk Services Consultant and AfroCentric Group as the Head of Risk Management Compliance. Bongi Portia Makhavhu's skill set includes risk management, compliance, and quality assurance.

Bongi Portia Makhavhu obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of the Witwatersrand between 1990 and 1994. In 2000 and 2001, Bongi Portia Makhavhu attended the Wits Business School, where they completed the Management Advance Programme. More recently, between 2019 and 2020, Bongi Portia Makhavhu pursued a Higher Diploma in Corporate Governance at Monash University South Africa, specializing in the field of Corporate Governance.
