Owen Li

Owen Li has extensive work experience in various roles, primarily focusing on research, organizing, and advocacy. Owen began their career in 2003 as the Voting Rights Project Manager at the Chinese Information and Service Center. From 2005 to 2006, they served as a Summer Associate at both the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem and the San Francisco Public Defender's Office. In 2005, they also worked as an Equal Justice America Fellow at Greater Boston Legal Services. Owen then joined the Boston Youth Organizing Project as an Advocacy and Organizing Fellow from 2006 to 2007. Owen later became a Senior Research Analyst at UNITE HERE International Union from 2007 to 2010. Owen then worked as a Lead Organizer at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights from 2010 to 2012. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Researcher at AFSCME Local 3299, a position they have held since October 2012.

Owen Li attended Stanford University from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Asian American Studies and English. Following their undergraduate studies, they went on to attend Boston University School of Law from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
