Bernt Viggo Matheussen

Bernt Viggo Matheussen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a Special Advisor at Å Energi since January 2023. Prior to this role, Bernt held multiple positions at Agder Energi AS, including Group Leader of the Forecasting & Optimization group and Special Advisor at Agder Energi Kraftforvaltning AS, contributing significantly to strategic management and hydrological modeling. Bernt has also worked at the University of Agder as a part-time researcher at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR) and held positions at Agder Energi Kraftforvaltning AS as Head of Hydrology and Meteorology and Head of R&D. Additional research experience includes roles at SINTEF Energiforskning and as a Research Assistant at NTNU and the University of Washington. Bernt earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Engineering Technology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between 2000 and 2004.
