Chris Roles

Chris joined Age International, Age UK’s sister charity, in 2012.

Chris is responsible for the leadership of Age International, and its policy and influencing work, its fundraising and communications, and its programme funding and emergency response work, as the UK member of the global HelpAge network.

Before joining Age International, Chris was Chief Executive of Y Care International – a youth focused international relief and development agency. He has also held senior positions at ActionAid, Christian Aid and YMCA England.

Chris is also a member of the BBC’s Appeals Advisory Committee.

Chris was attracted by the challenge of becoming Age International’s first Director in 2012, and by the opportunity to shape and develop the organisation, utilising the strengths of the wider Age UK group, as a strong UK member of the global HelpAge network.
