Andrew Vlahos is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property within the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as Vice President and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Agios Pharmaceuticals since 2018, Andrew leads the Intellectual Property function in a commercial-stage setting. Prior to this role, Andrew was Senior Patent Counsel and Senior Director of Intellectual Property at Johnson & Johnson, focusing on oncology and leading the MD Intellectual Property Center of Excellence. Andrew's career also includes a significant tenure at Pfizer, where responsibilities encompassed patent law as Assistant General Counsel. Earlier experiences as a Patent Associate and Litigation Associate established a strong foundation in patent application prosecution and complex litigation, respectively. Andrew earned a J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law, is a candidate for an MS in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Florida, and holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Virginia.
