Clive Patience

Dr. Patience joined Agios in 2017 and became chief technical operations officer in January 2022. He brings more than 30 years of experience in academic and industrial settings, including most recently 15 years in the biotechnology industry. Prior to joining Agios, he held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility within the pharmaceutical operations and technology organization at Biogen. During this tenure, his roles included global leadership positions within quality, CMC operations and portfolio management, where he gained experiences with the manufacture and supply of pharmaceutical, biologics, oligonucleotide and gene therapy modalities. Prior to that he held roles at Immerge Biotherapeutics and BioTransplant Inc, affiliated with Mass General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, as well as with Smith Kline Beecham (Now Glaxo Smith Kline). Dr. Patience was awarded his Ph.D. thesis from the University of London in Virology and has an extensive publication history.
