Stanley McDowell

Stanley McDowell has had a distinguished career in veterinary medicine and epidemiology, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Veterinary Sciences Division at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute since April 2006. Previous experience includes roles as Veterinary Research Officer and Veterinary Officer at the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Northern Ireland Government from August 1988 to April 2006. McDowell holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVM&S) from The University of Edinburgh and has advanced degrees, including a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology from Queen's University Belfast, and both a Master of Science (MS) and Diploma in London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine from the University of London. Stanley McDowell is also a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
