Hannes van der Merwe

Hannes van der Merwe has a strong background in software engineering and development. Hannes'smost recent role is as a Software Engineer at AgriDigital, where they began in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Fast as a Software Engineer from January to April 2022. In 2021, Hannes worked as a Senior Back End Developer at Icon Group from March to December.

From 2019 to 2020, they were a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where they developed a Data Lake as an AWS Cloud service and supported infrastructure development.

Before that, they worked at Old Mutual Investment Group from 2014 to 2019 as a Senior Analyst/Programmer, where they worked in the pre-trade IT team and maintained and developed various data feeds.

Hannes also has experience at Old Mutual from 2006 to 2014, where they held roles as a Senior/Lead Analyst/Programmer. In this role, they worked on projects such as enhancing the Retail Mass FAIS Adviser accreditation rules system and product platform system.

Prior to that, Hannes was self-employed and worked as a software developer from 2002 to 2006, undertaking various contract jobs and building a costing- and management information system for the textile manufacturing industry.

Hannes van der Merwe pursued their education between 2001 and 2009. In 2001, they attended CS Holdings, where they earned a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer certification. Following this, they enrolled at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2003 to 2009. There, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Information Sciences, with a focus on General Studies.
