Michael Rizor

Chief Operating Officer at Agtegra Cooperative

Michael Rizor has over 30 years of work experience. Michael started their career in 1990 as a Company Commander, Captain - Engineer in the United States Army Reserves, where they held multiple positions and led various engineering projects and humanitarian relief efforts.

In 1991, Rizor joined Cargill as a Plant Operations Manager and worked their way up to become the Assistant Vice President Operations - Complex Plant Manager. Michael oversaw all aspects of operations, leading the team to significant improvements in safety, energy reduction, productivity, plant reliability, and employee engagement. Michael also successfully resumed operations after a devastating flood in 2008.

Rizor then transitioned to the role of Director Strategic Sourcing, where they launched an initiative to rationalize the supply base, resulting in cost savings for materials and services. Michael later became the Vice President Operations for Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate before overseeing general management of Cargill’s West Coast Salt Operation.

In 2016, Rizor joined Agspring as the Vice President Operations. Michael then moved back to Cargill in 2017 as the Assistant Vice President Operations - Mining Operations, where they oversaw multi-site underground mining operations and implemented Operations Excellence for Cargill Salt business.

In 2022, Rizor joined Land O'Lakes, Inc. as the Transformation Program Manager - Operational Excellence. Michael led the company-wide operational excellence transformation and the development and deployment of the Land O'Lakes Production System across various facilities.

Currently, Rizor is serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Agtegra Cooperative, starting in 2023.

Michael Rizor holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at South Dakota Mines, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained several certifications, including the Cargill Catalyst Program from INSEAD in November 2020 and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification in April 2018.
