Georg Wiechert has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Georg currently holds the position of VP Albert Heijn Operations at Ahold Delhaize since February 2022. Georg's earlier role at Lidl Nederland was as a Regional Manager (Rayonmanager) from March 2005 to May 2007, responsible for 7 supermarkets and implementing successful commercial strategies. Georg started their career at Lidl Nederland as a Management trainee in October 2004.

Georg also has experience in the hospitality industry, working as a Marketing & Sales Manager at Best Western® Hotels & Resorts from April 2003 to October 2004.

Georg'scareer began at Mercantile Food Company, New York, where they served as a Junior Buying Manager Fruit & Vegetables from September 1994 to June 1996.

Georg Wiechert attended the University of Groningen from 1996 to 2003, where they obtained an MBA in economics. Later, they pursued further education, completing the De Baak Leadership program at de Baak in 2014. In 2016, they attended Nyenrode Business University, focusing on Leadership Principles and Talent Management. In 2019, Georg graduated from the MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Digital Transformation and Platform Strategies for Success. More recently, in 2018, they attended INSEAD for the Advanced Management Program (AMP).
