Chris Armbruster

Chris Armbruster has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Chris is currently the Director of AI Guild and the Head of #datacareer. Chris is also a Founding Member of AI Guild. Prior to that, they worked as the Director Community at The Drivery GmbH, where they achieved significant B2B ARR growth. Chris also served as the Director of Data Science Retreat. In addition, they held the position of Executive Committee member and Treasurer of the Alumni Association at European University Institute. Chris was also the Managing Director at EduData Fund UG, where they managed projects with large volumes. Chris has worked as a Member of the Board for Europe PubMedCentral at Wellcome Trust and as a Research Manager for the PEER Project at the International Association of STM Publishers. Chris was a Digital Project Manager at Max Planck Society and the Executive Director of Research Network 1989. Chris began their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at European University Institute, focusing on higher education reform and academic careers.

Chris Armbruster completed their PhD in Sociology at Lancaster University in 2002. Chris also received a degree as a Jean-Monnet Fellow in RSCAS from the European University Institute, specializing in Universities in Innovation Systems and Higher Education reform, between the years 2004 and 2006.
