Jose Luis Marin Español has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries.

Jose Luis started their career at Heriot-Watt University as a Marie-Curie Research Fellow, where they conducted postdoc research and developed simulations of crystalline solids.

Jose Luis then worked at Alerce as a Project Leader, where they focused on developing on-board computing technologies and web-based architectures.

Jose Luis later joined Aplicaciones en Informática Avanzada as an Innovation Consultant, where they created advanced analytics-based solutions for large corporations in various sectors, including energy, telecomms, banking, and finance. Jose Luis also led the design and deployment of systems-integration solutions and acted as a DevOps leader.

After that, they worked at Gridquant Inc. as a Program Manager, where they brought new technologies to market for real-time operation and offline planning of electric power systems.

Currently, they are working at Aplicaciones en Informática Avanzada again, initially joining as a Program Manager, where they played a key role in obtaining and executing projects for NASA through their US subsidiary. Jose Luis also supported the CTO in proposal preparation, algorithm development, reporting, and IP management.

Throughout their career, Jose has demonstrated expertise in strategic vision, operations coordination, business leadership, technical leadership, algorithm development, IP management, analytics, big data, systems integration, and DevOps.

Jose Luis Marin Español obtained their High School diploma with honors from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in the year 1986. Jose Luis then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics at the Universidad de Zaragoza from 1987 to 1991. Following that, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physics at the same university from 1993 to 1997. In 2013, Jose Luis Marin Español attended two executive education programs. Jose Luis enrolled in the Program for Management Development - Edicion Marzo 2013 at Esade, and also participated in the Value Innovation Program at INSEAD. Finally, in 2014, they completed a program in People Leadership and Team Management at Esade.
