Johanna McCalmont

Johanna McCalmont is a seasoned freelance conference interpreter and translator, with expertise in translating from French, German, Dutch, and Italian into English. As a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC) since May 2008, Johanna has worked with international and European institutions, trade unions, NGOs, and notable events such as the Bergen International Literary Festival and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. In addition to conference interpreting, Johanna has published translations through esteemed platforms like Blue Dot Kids Press, IUP, Asymptote Journal, and the Los Angeles Review. Prior to becoming a freelancer, experience included an in-house translator role at Linguanet sprl from 2004 to 2008. Johanna has furthered expertise in literary translation through summer schools at the British Centre for Literary Translation and City University London.
