Our Organization

Located within Airbnb’s BizTech Org, the airQA team is a team of ~100, spread across the globe in the USA, Canada, Ireland, India, China and more. Through professional Software Quality Assurance expertise, we ensure the quality of things built within the Airbnb tech stack and have supported nearly every one of Airbnb’s business teams. We enjoy partnering with business stakeholders in order to deliver the best experience to our end users.

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer, Data to join the Airbnb QA team. You will lead the development of analytical reporting and insights to amplify the reach and performance of the airQA team.

Daily Duties

Responsibilities

  • Define key metrics (internal goals & public facing metrics)
  • Conceptualize, create, and maintain dashboards to surface operational efficiencies and drive decision making
  • Investigate challenging questions around airQA team operations and defects at Airbnb in general. Communicate analyses and recommendations to cross functional stakeholders for decision making
  • Inform the public narrative of our work through data and visualizations

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a highly analytical role (risk analytics, business or marketing analysis, data analysis and visualization, etc.)
  • Fluency in the core toolkit of Data Science:
  • Implementing visualizations, dashboards, and reports
  • Advanced SQL/Hive
  • Airflow or similar job-scheduler tools
  • Descriptive and predictive modeling
  • R/Python
  • Experience with statistical analysis, modeling, and building data pipelines
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau and Superset
  • Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations and communicate to cross functional partners of varying technical levels through strong written and verbal communication
  • Project management experience, with proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
  • High level of independence and autonomy
  • Dynamic and very adaptable to a fast-paced changing environment
  • Familiarity with Jira and XRay test case management plugin a plus
  • Familiarity with Information Technology business work, the Software Development Lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and the Software QA Function a plus

The starting base pay for this role is between $150,000 and $190,500. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
