Valerie Shagday

Valerie Shagday is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in creative leadership and design direction. Currently serving as the Creative Lead for Design at Airbnb since February 2023, Valerie previously held key positions as Design Director at both Character and Syng, where significant contributions were made in establishing design practices and innovations in audio technology. Prior roles include Art Director at Majorminor and An Otherwise Co., showcasing a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients such as ICA Fund Good Jobs and SFJAZZ Center. Valerie's early career featured positions as Designer in Residence at Headlands Center for the Arts and Senior Graphic Designer at Incase, amplifying brand visibility through impactful design. Valerie holds a BA in Design Studies from San Jose State University, complemented by minors in Photography and Sociology.
