Nathan Roscoe is a design engineer at Airborne Systems since August 2018, where responsibilities include the development, design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and packing of a 6m HIAD aeroshell for the LOFTID mission, recognized as the largest blunt body atmospheric entry. Prior experience includes an internship at NASA Langley Research Center in summer 2016, evaluating concepts for HIAD direct force control and building a 1m HIAD prototype. Additionally, Nathan served as an Engineering Research Assistant at the UMaine Advanced Structures and Composites Center from June 2015 to May 2016, focusing on structural torus testing for the NASA HIAD project and gaining insights into the analysis of textile materials. Nathan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine, with a concentration and graduate certificate in Aerospace Engineering, completed in 2017.
