Junior Catalysis Engineer at Aircela Inc

Greg Schmitt has worked for Aircela Inc as a Junior Catalysis Engineer since 2023. Before that, they worked as a Watershed Water Quality Operations Lab Intern for the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) from June to August 2022. From September 2020 to January 2022, they worked for Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company, as a High School and College Tutor, mentoring students to increase their grades and communicate technical problems effectively. In 2021, they also served as an Undergraduate Thesis Researcher at Colorado College, experimenting with utilizing Carbon Quantum Dot coated Indium Tin Oxide slides in cyclic voltammetry to measure concentrations of capsaicin and ferrocyanide in water-based solvents. As a Ski Instructor for Olympic Regional Development Authority from October 2015 to March 2018, Greg coached groups of children aged 4-13 and advanced to work with experienced and proven staff.

Greg Schmitt received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Colorado College in 2022. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, which they completed in 2024. Prior to their college studies, Greg received their High School Diploma from Onteora High School in 2018. Greg also obtained certifications in AIARE Avalanche 1 from the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) in December 2021 and Wilderness First Responder from NOLS Wilderness Medicine in January 2022.
