Chief Pilot at AIRPAC Airlines

John Gerken has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. John began their career in 2001 as a CAD Drafter II at Canby Architecture Studio, where they primarily focused on 3D modeling of concept design and design development using AutoCAD. John held this position until 2008.

In 2009, John joined California Panel Systems, LP as a CAD Manager/BIM Manager/CAD Specialist, where they worked until 2014. During this time, they managed CAD operations and specialized in Building Information Modeling (BIM).

In 2015, John had two roles at different companies. At Hillsboro Aero Academy, they worked as a Flight Instructor for the entire year. Additionally, at Allen Corporation of America, they held the position of Instructor Pilot - Piston, FAA AFS-60 from December 2015 to July 2017. In this role, they collaborated with ASIs to maintain currency in aviation knowledge.

John returned to Hillsboro Aero Academy in 2017, this time as an Instructor Pilot. John held this role until June 2019 when they were promoted to Assistant Chief Instructor Pilot. In this position, they trained and mentored aspiring pilots.

Most recently, in May 2021, John was appointed as the Chief Pilot at AIRPAC Airlines. John currently holds this position, leading the airline's pilot operations.

Throughout their career, John has developed a strong expertise in aviation and CAD/BIM operations, demonstrating their commitment to professional growth and versatility.

John Gerken attended the College of the Sequoias from 2005 to 2008, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Architecture. Following this, they pursued further education at the NewSchool of Architecture & Design in 2008 and 2009. However, the specific degree they obtained from this institution is not provided.
