Kanwal Bhatia

Kanwal Bhatia has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Kanwal is currently the Founder/CEO of Aival, where they focus on accelerating the safe adoption of AI in healthcare. Kanwal also works as an Entrepreneur at Antler, and is part of the Technical Advisory Board at Ultromics.

Previously, Bhatia worked as an Artificial Intelligence Architect at Odin Vision, and as a Lead Data Scientist at Visulytix. Kanwal also held the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate at King's College London, where they conducted research on deep learning for medical image analysis. Kanwal gave lectures on machine learning in medical imaging at the ESMRMB 2016 Teaching Session.

Before that, Bhatia worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Imperial College London, focusing on intelligent medical imaging and machine learning techniques. Kanwal also worked as a Postdoctoral Trainee at Siemens Corporate Research, where they developed software for cardiac video analysis. Additionally, they have experience as a Quantitative Analyst at CoDeAn, where they provided CDO/CLO analytics, and as a Scientist at IXICO, where they contributed to the development of an Oncology product.

Kanwal Bhatia pursued a Master's Degree in Computing at Imperial College London. Following this, from 2003 to 2007, they undertook a PhD in Medical Image Computing at the same institution.
