Alexey Tereshenkov has over 10 years of work experience. Alexey began their career in 2006 as a Technical Translator for Dataplus (ESRI Russia & CIS). In 2009, they took on a role as an Intern at the Municipality of Gävle, where they conducted research on web GIS application development. Alexey also held a Visiting Lectureship at the North-Caucasian Technical College during this time. In 2017, they were an Intern at Esri in the Network Analyst team. Alexey then worked as a GIS Developer for Esri Sverige from 2009 to 2019. In 2019, they held two positions, as a Python Developer at JBA Risk Management and a Developer Advocate at Semmle, where they authored a Python wrapper around a REST API, automated front-end integration tests with Selenium, and wrote blog posts about static code analysis and tutorials for Python. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer (Tools and Infrastructure) at Oxbotica and will be transitioning to a Senior Software Engineer (Release Engineering) at Aiven in 2022.

Alexey Tereshenkov has a diverse educational background. Alexey obtained a BSc in Geoinformatics from Kuban State University (KubSU) between 2003 and 2008, followed by an MSc in Geomatics from the University of Gävle between 2008 and 2009. Alexey also attended Lund University between 2008 and 2010 for GIS studies. Additionally, Alexey has obtained various certifications from Microsoft and Esri, ranging from Microsoft Certified Professional in 2014 to ArcGIS Desktop Associate 10.0 in 2011.
