Leon Bezuidenhout has over 17 years of work experience in the software engineering industry. In 2003, they began their career as a Software Engineer at Fair Isaac. In 2004, they moved to 3iSolutions, where they were a Software Engineer responsible for normalizing an existing MS SQL call center database, creating new databases, and writing ETL scripts. In 2006, they moved to Intrepid Solutions as a Senior Developer. In 2007, they joined Candor Technologies as a Senior Developer, designing and implementing web based solutions for clients using C#, ASP. Net and MS SQL, and maintaining and extending the company's print on demand solution using Delphi and C#. In 2009, they joined Altech ISIS as an Analyst Developer, writing micro-services in C# and Java. In 2013, they moved to Rightshift as a Technical Team Lead, working with a team of strong devops to deliver, run and maintain micro-services build using Java. In 2015, they joined The Gemini Solution as a Development Manager. In 2017, they moved to Iress as a Technical Lead and Team Lead, leading a small team to build green field user interfaces and libraries using React and TypeScript, and building an in house design system and finding ways to invigorate older user interfaces. In 2019, they joined Spitfire Corporation Limited as a Technical Lead. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Aiven as a Site Reliability Engineering Manager and Senior Site Reliability Engineer, providing cloud based data services and building software for self healing systems.
Leon Bezuidenhout attended Zwaanswyk High School from 1992 to 1996. Leon then pursued a Diploma in Computer Science from CTI Education Group from 1998 to 1999. Leon concluded their education with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, which they completed in 2017.
