Dr. Diane Tang-Liu is a co-founder and CEO of AiViva BioPharma, Inc. a privately held biotech company focusing on development of innovative drug products in specialty therapeutic areas. Diane’s career in the pharmaceutical industry spans over 35 years where she’s held leadership roles in pharmaceutical development, R&D portfolio management, executive development, and biotech startup. Diane has been professionally recognized throughout her career and remains active in her communities.
Prior to co-founding AiViva, Diane co-founded Allgenesis, Inc., based in Taiwan, which was focused on developing new small molecules and therapeutic proteins for global markets. Diane served as CEO and Chairperson of the board from 2014-2015. Prior to starting Allgenesis, Diane was a senior executive at Allergan, Inc. where she established key R&D departments to support the discovery and development of novel drugs and bring them to patients. Diane played an integral leadership role in the development of many of Allergan’s successful commercial products.
For her service and dedication to the community, Diane received the Spirit of Volunteerism Award from the County of Orange, Award for Chinese Cultural Leadership from Asian Business Association of Orange, and the Award of Vision in America from International Channel Networks. Diane sits on the board of non-profit organizations and remains dedicated to her volunteer work within her communities.
Diane is a full adjunct professor of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Regulatory and Quality Sciences at the University of Southern California, and of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. She also serves as a Scientific Advisor to Academia Sinica, the National Taiwan University –Stanford University SPARK program, and other institutes. She was elected Fellow by American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and American College of Clinical Pharmacology. Diane has published over 80 research papers and has been awarded over 20 patents. Diane received a B.S. in Pharmacy from National Taiwan University, and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco.
