Athena Herrmann

Athena Herrmann has over 20 years of experience in the design industry. Athena is currently the Executive Vice President at Akendi, where they focus on creating useful and delightful user experiences. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Design at Architech, utilizing modern methods and top talent to solve complex problems. Athena also worked as a Senior Manager of Product Design at Goodfood Market and as the Director of Product Design at TouchBistro, where they developed innovative solutions for the restaurant industry. Athena has a strong background in human experience design, having held positions such as Design Director and Senior Designer at Akendi. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Graphic Designer at Dirt Creative, White Rhino, Inc., and Tom Davis + Company, gaining expertise in packaging, corporate identity, and graphic design.

Athena Herrmann earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology, which they attended from 1994 to 1998. Athena has also obtained various certifications, including "Leader As Coach" from Maven (expected in 2023), "Courageous Conversations" from SOUNDLEADERSHIP Inc (2022), "Being a UX Leader" from Nielsen Norman Group (2022), "Trust & High Performing Teams" from SOUNDLEADERSHIP Inc (2022), and "Leading Effectively" from LinkedIn (2020).
