Peder Aursand

Peder Aursand, PhD, serves as the Value Stream Manager and Data Scientist at Aker BP ASA since August 2018, leading a cross-disciplinary team in the development and maintenance of machine learning models and infrastructure while enhancing internal data science capabilities. Previously, Aursand worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Aker BP, focusing on subsurface data interpretation and digitalization strategy. Prior roles include Data Scientist at CGI, where expertise in image recognition and natural language processing was applied, Senior Research Scientist at Norwegian Computing Center, where mobile authentication solutions and adaptive security algorithms were developed, and Research Scientist at SINTEF, involving modeling of multi-phase flow phenomena. Aursand’s education includes a PhD in Applied Mathematics from NTNU, alongside a Master's Degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics from NTNU and an exchange semester at the University of Glasgow.
