Mari Engh Brekke

Mari Engh Brekke has extensive experience in compliance and risk management roles. Mari is currently the Chief Compliance Officer at Aker Horizons since August 2021. Prior to this, they held the same position at Aker Energy AS from September 2020 to August 2021 and at Aker Ghana Investment Company from November 2019 to September 2020.

Before their roles in the energy sector, Brekke worked as the Lead Compliance Officer at Aker BP ASA from October 2018 to November 2019. Mari also served as the Head of Compliance at Akastor from August 2014 to February 2018.

Brekke's career began in 2007 when they worked as a Political Risk Analyst at Exclusive Analysis. Mari then moved on to project management roles, working as a Project Manager at the Sustainable Development Association from August 2007 to January 2009, and later at the Det Norske Veritas - DNV Sustainability Centre from February 2009 to March 2011. Mari'sfinal role at DNV was as the CR and Risk Competence Manager.

In 2011, Brekke joined Aker Solutions, where they worked as the Manager of Business Integrity and Compliance until August 2014.

Mari Engh Brekke has a MSc degree in International Political Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), which they obtained from 2005 to 2006. Additionally, they hold a MSc degree in Political Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The dates for their studies at NTNU are not provided.
