James Rowley

James Rowley has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. James co-founded Aker Systems in 2016 and currently holds the position of Co-Founder. Prior to that, they worked for the UK Government from 2013 to 2016 as a Business Intelligence & Data Architecture specialist. In this role, they were responsible for delivering a large-scale data quality capability and providing guidance on data architecture. From 2009 to 2013, James worked at CGI Business Consulting as a Senior BI Consultant, where they worked on BI strategy, leadership, and technical delivery for various clients, including a government case management system. Before that, they worked at Logica as a Senior Data Developer from 2005 to 2009, providing database support and guidance to project teams. James started their career at Personal Touch Insurance in 2003 as an Applications Developer, where they worked on developing a MS SQL based call centre system and designed a bespoke .Net application for managing telesales customer interactions.

James Rowley has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Embedded Systems from the University of Westminster, which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Bsc degree in Information Systems at the University of Wales, Cardiff, from 2003 to 2004. Before their Bsc degree, they also studied Computer Systems at the University of Wales, Cardiff, from 2001 to 2003, earning an HND degree.
