Danielle Lenz

Sr. Director and Head, Target Discovery at Akouos

Danielle Lenz has extensive work experience, starting with their most recent position at Akouos as the Sr. Director and Head of Target Discovery since April 2023. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of AAV Molecular Biology at Akouos from July 2021 to April 2023. Before joining Akouos, Danielle worked as a Principal Scientist from December 2019 to July 2021, and as a Senior Scientist from September 2018 to December 2019, both at Akouos.

Before their time at Akouos, Danielle was a Post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University from April 2013 to September 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Tel Aviv University as a Doctoral Researcher from October 2008 to March 2013, and as a Teacher Assistant from January 2010 to June 2012.

Danielle also has military experience as a Sergeant in Unit 8200 - Israeli Intelligence Corps from March 2002 to December 2003.

Danielle Lenz began their education in 2004 at Tel Aviv University where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a focus on General Biology, in 2007. Danielle then continued their studies at the same university and obtained a Master of Science degree in Human/Medical Genetics in 2008. Finally, from 2008 to 2013, Danielle pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree with a specialization in Human Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry at Tel Aviv University.
