Anil Thomas has a long and varied work experience. Anil began their career in 1994 as a Software Engineer at Ampersand Corporation. In 1996, they moved to Siemens as a Software Engineer. In 1997, they held two positions simultaneously, a Graduate Research Assistant at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and a Software Engineer Intern at Sun Microsystems. In 1998, they joined Cisco Systems as a Technical Leader, where they designed and implemented major features for CDS-TV and led the design and development for increasing supported file size from 32GB to 1TB. Anil also played a key role in ramping up a new business unit. In 2014, they became a Manager/Principal Data Scientist at Nervana and a Data Science Consultant. In 2016, they joined Intel Corporation as a Director/Principal Engineer, AI Products Group. In 2020, they co-founded Luminide. Currently, they are a Senior Director, Applied Data Science at Akridata.
Anil Thomas received a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
