Spencer Koehler

Spencer Koehler is a data scientist with over 30 years of applied Natural Language Processing (NLP) experience, including AI research, software engineering, machine learning and applied statistics. He leads Aktify’s data science team in developing state-of-the-art conversational AI solutions. In principal roles at Proofpoint and Ancestry.com, Spencer successfully led cutting-edge efforts in both data science and engineering. The University of Utah awarded him a Ph.D. in medical informatics for innovating a way to populate medical records with encoded diagnoses and findings from dictated reports. He completed his undergraduate studies also at the U of U, graduating cum laude with degrees in mathematics, computer science, and linguistics.
