Dr. Chris Taylor is the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. Chris has held this position since January 2019.
Previously, Dr. Taylor served as Vice President for Academic Affairs & Dean of Faculty at Habib University in Karachi, Pakistan from September 2018 to August 2021.
Before their time at Habib University, Dr. Taylor was a professor of Islamic history and Middle East studies at Drew University from 1991 to 2019. Chris also served as Dean of Calhoun College at Yale University from 1989 to 1991 and as Assistant Master at Mathey College at Princeton University from 1986 to 1989.
Dr. Taylor began their career as the Acting Executive Director of the Center for Arabic Study Abroad at The American University in Cairo in 1984.
Chris Taylor has a Ph.D. in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from Princeton University, a Master's Degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from Princeton University, and certification from PADI in Open Water Scuba Instructor. Chris also has an advanced degree in Arabic Language and Literature from The American University in Cairo and a Bachelor's Degree in Theirtory from The Johns Hopkins University.
