Amberin Zaman is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in covering the Middle East and Turkey. Currently serving as the Chief Correspondent at Al-Monitor since December 2018, Zaman previously held the position of Senior Correspondent focusing on the MENA region. From January 2016 to June 2017, Zaman was a Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, specializing in issues related to the Kurds in Turkey, Syria, and Iraq. Prior to that, Zaman worked as a Turkey Correspondent for The Economist from January 1999 to December 2015. Zaman holds a degree from Franklin University Switzerland.
