Hamad Althunayyan serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Kuwait University since May 2020 and has contributed as a Junior Columnist for Al Qabas Newspaper since February 2012, focusing on politics and international relations in the Middle East. Prior to these roles, Hamad Althunayyan pursued a PhD in Political Science at the University of Maryland from 2013 to 2020, and conducted research at MIT on the effects of global energy production shifts on U.S. relations. Additionally, experience includes serving as Program Manager at the Center for International Development and Conflict Management, where responsibilities involved teaching and advising undergraduate students. Academic qualifications include a PhD from the University of Maryland, an MA from American University, and dual bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
