Phil Kelly is a seasoned project engineer with extensive experience in the pulp and paper industry, currently working at the Alabama Technology Network since November 2020. Prior roles include serving as Technical Capability Leader and a member of the Naheola Mill Board Leadership Team at Georgia-Pacific LLC from September 2017 to October 2020, as well as a Project Engineer at Alabama Technology Network from May 2014 to September 2017, where Phil focused on providing tailored technical products and training related to Lean enterprise and quality systems. Previous positions include STS Sr. Scientist at Boise Inc., where Phil consulted on papermaking processes, and Papermaker at Boise Cascade, optimizing production machinery. Phil also excelled as Superintendent at Alabama River Newsprint, managing a top-performing newsprint machine. Phil holds a Master of Science in Pulp and Paper Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Math from Charleston Southern University.
