Vipul Shah has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Vipul began their career in 2009 as a Hospitalist at Primedoc of Burlington, where they worked until 2011. In 2012, Shah joined Alamance Regional Medical Center, Inc as the Hospitalist Medical Director and later became the Vice Chief of Staff. Also in 2012, they joined Sound Physicians as the Chief Hospitalist and worked there until 2020. From 2012 to 2017, Shah served as the Medical Director Hospitalist at Eagle Hospital Physicians. Overall, Vipul Shah has held various leadership roles in hospitalist medicine throughout their career.
Vipul Shah completed their education in a chronological manner. From 2005 to 2008, they attended UPMC (Mercy) and obtained a degree in MD with a field of study in Internal Medicine. Alongside their formal education, Vipul Shah also pursued various additional certifications. In 2011, they completed the North Carolina Medical Society Leadership College program. In 2014, they became a Clinical Quality Program Scholar through the North Carolina Medical Society. In 2015, they completed the Health Care Leadership and Management program offered by the North Carolina Medical Society. In 2017, they obtained the Physician Builder certification from Epic and also completed the Physician Leadership Academy by the Center for Creative Leadership. In 2019, they pursued the National Physician Leadership Program by The Health Management Academy and obtained a certificate in Physician Leadership from the American Association for Physician LeadershipTM. In 2019, they also completed the Cone Health Professional Coach program by Coach Academy International. Vipul'smost recent certification is in Executive Coaching, which they obtained from LinkedIn in 2021. In October 2022, they obtained the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) certification from the American Association for Physician LeadershipTM.
