Shalaka Deshmukh

Shalaka Deshmukh has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biosciences and pharmaceuticals. Shalaka has worked as an Associate Scientist II at Alamar Biosciences, Inc. since February 2023. Prior to that, they served as a BioAssay Scientist at Amazon from June 2021 to January 2023. Shalaka also worked as a Research Associate 2 at Surrozen from August 2019 to June 2021. Shalaka has experience as a Co-Op Biology at Celgene from July 2018 to March 2019. Shalaka also served as an Intern-DMPK at C4 Therapeutics, Inc. for two months in 2018, where they gained experience in performing plasma stability assays and using QToF Mass Analyzer. In 2017, they worked as a Lab Assistant in Dr Mansoor Amiji's Laboratory at Northeastern University, where they were involved in various research activities including preparation of lipid films, production of liposomes, and cell line studies. Shalaka also worked as a Junior Consultant at IMS Health for a few months in 2016, where they conducted stakeholder mapping and performed secondary desk research. As a Summer Intern at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in 2015, they conducted interviews with gastroenterologists and analyzed data related to the use of Biologicals in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Trainee at Ajanta Pharma Ltd from November 2012 to May 2013, gaining experience in formulation development for cardiovascular disease management.

From 2011 to 2013, they attended C.U.Shah College of Pharmacy, S.N.D.T. University, Juhu, Mumbai and completed a M. Pharm degree in Industrial Pharmacy.
