Nicole Perez has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and positions. Nicole began their career as an Intern at the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government in 2012. Nicole then served as a Culture Editor for the Unm Daily Lobo from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, Nicole joined The Hartford Courant as a General Assignment Reporter/Intern before moving on to the Albuquerque Journal, where they held multiple roles including Night Cops Reporter from 2013 to 2014, Crime and Breaking News Reporter from 2014 to 2017, and Online Projects Producer from 2017 to 2018. Nicole then worked as the Customer Experience Director at Wood Thumb from 2018 to 2023. Currently, Nicole is employed as a Senior Associate in Media and Communications at Alameda Health System, a position they have held since May 2023.

Nicole Perez pursued their undergraduate studies from 2010 to 2014 at The University of New Mexico. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Journalism.
